Yes I did try that, it doesn’t make any difference. The website is http://www.wellorganised.biz/well-organised-blog/ – on this page you can see the excerpts, and see the button is not there.

OK – I did a new post today, and the button showed up beautifully. Then it didn’t. I have found the reason is that I used the built-in excerpt feature for the Theme. So I have changed that for all the posts. So now I get the “Text before link” ok, But the “Read More” button doesn’t appear. The text “read more” shows when the mouse hovers, but there is no permanent button. I have chosen one of the basis (not premium) buttons.

I just visit your site, and i think you are select the white button skin.

The white button skin is designed for non-white background because the button color is white, so it will blend with the background. So i think changing your button skin will fix your problem 🙂

Thanks – I get it now. I assumed that the button I was using would show up as a grey background, but I see now that is standing in for the background to the site. Thanks for your help.
