auto excerpt always strips out custom HTML

How can I get auto excerpt to keep custom HTML? There isn’t a shortcode. Specifically this is for a bandcamp embedded player that must be displayed on the frontpage.

But I think I might just switch back to manually adding breaks. I also notice that you don’t add a break in the middle of text generated by a shortcode. I may be looking for something too advanced.
