Hello there,
I have the premium version of Easy custom auto excerpt on my http://database-skills.com
The excerpt plugin has broken my homepage and it has some random code displayed in the homepage instead of the content excerpt and it is the theme’s default "Read More" that’s currently displayed and not the plugin’s excerpt.
Any help in getting this fixed promptly would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for late response..
Is this issue still exist in another theme? I suspect ECAE is conflicting with your theme’s default excerpt (or maybe another excerpt plugin?).
I can help you fix it, but I need to edit your theme 🙂

1. When you say edit the theme, is that going to negatively affect the site’s performance or speed?
2. Can we revert it back to default(original) excerpt style if I want to? what exactly are you going to change?
3. Are you ok providing me the steps to fix it myself? I don’t have a child theme so I am little concerned changing the main theme files.

Sorry for late response, weekend was offday 🙂
1. No effect on speed.
2. You can always backup the original theme. I just suspect ECAE somehow cannot override your theme default excerpt function and I just want to commenting out that function
3. I’m not sure, because every theme usually had different location for its excerpt. Some put it in single.php, some put it in content.php, etc ect. I have to inspect it first
