I have now used css to make the adjustment that the premium version would have given me and it seems that after adding the premium one the setting on the free version dont make any difference?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I added your plugin so i could display the excerpt image, which worked fine. But i could not position it, so i bought your premium license so i could position the image, BUT it does not work, any settings i apply do not work?

Before i added the premium plugin the free version would let me choose to display the featured image or the first in the post, after adding the premium version this option no longer works so it appears that the premium plugin does not work and stops the free functionality from working?

I would prefer not to grant you access and can provide screen shots of the setting and then you can use the browser to inspect the elements to see that the settings are not working.

The settings that the page has are the ones before i added the premium plugin. When i added the premium option i unzippd the file and added the premium option but did not reload the free folder, is it the same in the premium zip as the free download or is it adjusted to work with the premium version?

Can you please help as otherwise the plugin is of not use to me.

Premium should work with free version with no problem,

Since you prefer not to grant me temporaru access, so you have to debug it yourself. Please try with default theme, to see if the issue is still remain… If yes, then it’s ECAE’s bug. If no issue, then it’s theme incompability… 🙁

I will try your advise and see if i can get it working. If its a problem and it wont work with the theme i have is it possible to unlink the plugin from this website so i can use it on another wordpress site?

Ok, so i have followed your advise and it seems the same? will it only effect new posts. It allows me to add the featured image which shows on the post, but if i change the setting to 1st image it does not change to this option, so it seems the free plugin works and maybe changes some files permanently on wordpress and the premium one is not compatible with my theme (dazzle)?

Where do we go from here?

Yes you can move your lisence to another web/domain 🙂

I suspect it’s theme incompability 🙁

Some themes have its own excerpt function, and somehow ECAE cannot override it (Maybe hardcoded into the theme).

Maybe you can send me your theme, so I can debug it from here 🙂

I will leave the licence pointing to this site for the moment in case it can be fixed (or if an update to the theme fixes it!) then if its still not working later i will probably move it.
